On behalf of the Crokinole players of BC, I would like to thank everyone who had a part in making our 4th Annual BC Open Crokinole Championship the great event it was.
Many thanks to all the spectators who were interested enough to attend. To the media for excellent coverage before and after the event. To the many volunteers who did an amazing job of keeping the day organized. To Carol Sheridan, our MC, for keeping the scoring running so smoothly. To the many businesses and individuals throughout the Okanagan Valley for so generously supporting our event, especially our major sponsor, Ripley Stainless. To Oliver's mayor, Ron Hovanes, who gave his time to attend for the presenting of the awards and to Oliver's Royalty who were there to help throughout the day. To Ralph and Orrin Hargrave, who once again made our beautiful "take home" trophies. To Alta Dawn Photography for capturing the special moments of the day. http://altadawnephotography.zenfolio.com/p136029448
Most importantly, very special thanks to each and every player... from our youngest player, ten year old Matthew McDonald to Ralph Zosel, our oldest player at age 95. Thanks to Brian Cook and Fred Slater who came from Ontario to attend and many, many thanks to our local players because without them there would be no tournament. Thank you!
A very special guest at our Tournament was the famous craft'sman, Willard Martin, from Ontario, the maker of our great tournament playing boards. A big thanks to him for coming all the way to the Okanagan Valley to attend!
It seems that with each tournament, we all learn and improve. So what can we expect for the 5th Annual BC Open Crokinole Tournament? It's exciting to see the interest and commitment of so many local players to take this tournament to an even higher level. I think we will see this tournament grow and become THE crokinole event out west, and will bring new players who will challenge the best!
Mark your calendars for March 16th, 2013,tell you friends and plan to attend the 5th Annual BC Open Crokinole Championship in the beautiful Okanagan Valley.
