After a very tough year which saw the loss of both the Kawartha Crokinole Club and the Kawartha Bowl Tournament, crokinole in Peterborough is giving it one more shot with a slight twist on the club concept.

The Kawartha Knights Crokinole Team (really REALLY tried to download the logo!) is a slight variance in that its members are a team, not a club.  Membership is private (yet in no way exclusive, anyone interested may join) and the purpose is to develop each others skills for competition as opposed to competing against one another.  Those interested will move forward to NCA level competitions.

It is hoped with this new concept that it will keep overhead costs down and therefore member fluctuation will not be as severe, which is what provided the main problem for the KCC.  The "Knights" will make their debut on September 24th in Belleville and look forward to developing from there!

If anone living in the Peterborough or surrounding area would like to be a team member, please contact me at hogan_jason@yahoo.ca.  Team practices will vary and revolve around the crokinole events throughout the season.

Preet;

Why dont you and some of your crokinole friends make the trek to Belleville on Sept 24th for our tournament?  You will meet players from Kingston, Belleville, Peterborough and the many from Toronto and Western Ontario.

Just wonder if I put Ottawa area team together we compete?  Maybe meet halfway in Perth? Or 401 Kingston instead of Seven.

That's fantastic news Jason! I hope that this TEAM will produce top competitors, and I look forward to seeing them throughout the year.

Watch out, the Knights are coming.
