I prefer just playing to 100 than the tournament style. It's a better game, and could be used for the final instead of 2 points for a round win.

The plan with the tavistock videos was for myself to edit them, and then transfer them over to Ray who would add commentary. Over the summer we attempted to do this in many different ways, none of them successful. Finally, we just decided that I would place the video of the finals (which is now up on youtube for viewing) and then Ray would attempt to use the same video and add his commentary. I'm not sure when he is going to do this, and I don't really have any preference, but I'm sure you could ask him in Stratford next weekend, if you are going.
That'd be great. I haven't played in a while, and I gotta get back in the swing. my phone number is 416-527-2932, and I've got most of the next week off for some down time. Crokinole suits that perfectly. :)
Thanks for the comment on my board. Glad you were able to sink those doogies.
Here are a few photos of other boards I have made. Two variations of Maple, and 2 of Cherry.
I was certainly nervous as well at the start, as everyone wants to play well and that begins be hopefully starting off strongly and gaining confidence. I played very well that day, much like I had in Exeter and Toronto, with my nerves kicking in higher (and thus 20's were getting tougher to attain) when I got to the playoff round. I find that the more I play quality opponents, the less nervous I become and knowing I can beat almost anyone when playing well, I hope to win some tournaments during next years run of major events, of which Ray and Brian each have 3 of the 6 this past year. I do hope to make it to St. Jacobs and try to stop both of them from getting the 7th. If so, I hope we will play again as you are a good player and without me fortunately taking 8 points from you at the start, it looks like you would have been on the cusp of making the playoff round and as it was, a top 40 placing is very respectable. Appreciate the congrats and I'm sure I'll be playing you a lot more and having some great matches into the future!
I noticed you've been online doing some good nudging and encouraging to our Hammer friends. Way to go!
Saturday was fun. The way it went was this: In the morning we each played ten games. The first 16 players in each group (competitive and rec) went on to play in Pool A of their respective divisions, and and the rest went to Pool B. In the Rec Division Frank Schuurman managed to stay in Pool A and ended up in 5th place, just out of a play-off spot. Deanna ended up in the B pool of the Rec division and she went all the way, going to the semi-finals and the finals and winning them both. Unfortunately no hardware, just a handshake.
In the Competitive division I managed to stay in the A pool, ending up in 12th after the morning run. Following another eight games in the afternoon, I ended up in seventh place. Only four went on to the play-offs, so that was it for me. All in all a good day for the Hammers. We had fun at London's well run tourney. Let's see if we can drum up some enthusiasm for Waterloo or Exeter.

Yes it was an experence. about 3 yrs in the making. I had the wood dried in a sawmills dryer but couldn't get the moisture low enough to suit me. So I dryed it above a wood hearter for two winters.
I was in Tavistock last year. My partner fell apart under the presure so we didn't place well. Can't say i remember playing you but it was all
