Thanks to everybody who came out to support our new club and participate in some great games of crokinole. Keep reading this blog for news about our upcoming 2009/2010 season starting in the fall.

Greetings TCC,
tomorrow is second Tuesday so it must be Firkin time. This is our last scheduled rendezvous at the Firkin for this season and before our big finale with the tournament coming Saturday May 23rd. Please come and have your say on how and where we go from here.
If some dire event prevents you from coming i.e. you've been quarantined by the 'WHO flu' (my name for it, since they are the ones making such a big fuss, they can carry the opprobrium, why blame the Mexicans or the letters 'H' and 'N') then feel free to email back. Or post an opinion at our club blog < > which at the moment has a puny membership roll ill-representing our massive talent in the crokinole universe.
I'm off this week so I plan to be there early so come on down and join me if you have ideas to share since we all know that when the boards go into action at 7:00 the fingers tend to pre-occupy most of the brain function.

That time and place for those of you who haven't been down for a while:

7 pm in the backroom of the Ferret and Firkin Pub, 720 Spadina Ave. just south of Bloor.

TCC Venue change this Saturday April 25th

TCC members be advised we will be having our Saturday meeting at the Ferret & Firkin and NOT The Global Village School due to a scheduling conflict. We will still meet at our regular time from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.
Sorry for the late notice but the game goes on.
See you Saturday!
Happy Easter to all Toronto Crokinole Club Members,

we're getting together again for our regular meeting at the F&F on Spadina just south of Bloor after the end of March hiatus due to the WCL London Tournament. We had a pretty showing there with 6 members attending and Fred Slater taking second spot overall just behind Ray Beierling. Not bad at all.

There are six weeks to go until Tavistock so don't miss this chance to nail down those double takeouts and in-off 20's under match pressure conditions.
... and remember, "The pegs are your friends."

Ferret & Firkin address: 720 Spadina Ave (west side just south of Bloor)

There will also be the latest news on upcoming WCLTournaments.

Looking forward to seeing you Tuesday.

The 2009 sessions of the TCC are starting up again next Tuesday night at the Ferret and Firkin. For your convenience, we're posting the dates of our remaining 2008/09 matches below. This schedule takes us up to the main event - The World Crokinole Championship!

To accomodate the needs of members with varying work schedules, we will be meeting on the second Tuesday and the last Saturday of every month. The Tuesday night matches will be at the Ferret and Firkin, at 7:00 pm, and the Saturday afternoon matches will be at the Global Village English School, at 1:00 pm.

Can I get some specs regarding the tournament on the 23rd? I'll see if I can get a few people to come now that other matters have settled down.

Hey Eric,
Sorry for the late reply to your e-mail. If you could send e-mail to my other address or on this forum I'd appreciate it. I responded to the Slyder Cup message. I think this could be a go! Let's discuss particulars during the WCC between games.

I'm always interested in a challenge, and I'm sure my teammates would feel the same. You'll have to help me on the 'Ryder Cup Format' and fitting it to crokinole though. We meet tomorrow so I'll bring it up there and test the waters. Thanks for getting in touch Jason.

Hi Everyone. For those who might not know, I'm Jason Hogan and I run the Kawartha Club in Peterborough. I am interested in starting a Challenge Cup between our club and another one in the spirit of fun, friendship and promotion of the game. You are our closest geographic rivals and was wondering if there would be interest. It would be a team each of four players and run similar to a ryder cup format. If interested, please contact me through this site or at and we can work together on a format for this type of competition. Hope to hear from you.
