Let's not get too carried away just yet Coe, but we do plan on whipping up some T'shirts.

New HAMILTON HAMMERS crokinole club t-shirts coming maybe later on this year. let Me or Brian Miltenburg know if you want it. Still thinking of a price. Sold during meetings and Tavistock tournament.

".... Too bad he wore his Toronto Crokinole Club T-Shirt or he probably would have done even better. "
Hey, my Hamilton Hammers T-Shirt was in the wash, what can I say.

(Are there "Hammers" T-Shirts"? ... not yet, but there could be. How great is the interest and what do you think should go on it?

Cheers,

Eric

Tavistock Results.
I'm not sure of the Official results, but here are some Hamilton related ones...
Ron Haymes was 2nd overall in the Competitive preliminary rounds. He had a spectacular 67 out of 80 points going into the playoff. We are very lucky to have a real pro in our club. His son Ray made the playoffs too! When is this guy going to join our club? I came in 37th and Jake was 41st. Not bad, but I know we wanted to do better. (Doesn't everybody?) I started off with a big fat donut against Kent Robinson who finished first in the preliminaries. He was very gracious about it, but I had a hard time recovering after that. It took me a round or two to shake the nervous jitters. I will get the other results later. I should have written them all down. Off the top of my head, in the rec division, I saw Frank Schuurman in the playoffs. This guy just keeps on getting better. Coe Miltenburg, the future of the HHCC nailed 4th in the world in the junior singles category. I believe he was our only prize winner along with his sister Mercedes who is now ranked 8th in the world as a junior and she also won a $25 dollar prize as the youngest female competitor. Ron and Ray Haymes slipped a bit from last year as doubles, but still made the playoffs. They are a great team. Eric Miltenburg and myself also slipped down to 20th in the competitive preliminaries.
We had a lot of representation from Hamilton at the tournament and it was great to see everybody there. I will post all the members and their results as soon as they go up on the WCC site.
Finally I should mention that Eric Miltenburg also made the singles competitive finals for the first time placing 7th in the preliminaries with a very impressive 60pts/60-20's score. Too bad he wore his Toronto Crokinole Club T-Shirt or he probably would have done even better.

Thanks, Brian, for posting our schedule. Take note, Hamilton members, that we are meeting on Thursday, even though it is the second meeting of the month. The church was previously booked for a wedding (our daughter's!) so we had to settle for two Thursday instead of the usual "Second Thursday and last Friday of each month. Sorry to those who have other Thursday committments.

Brian kindly published my email, but got it wrong by one letter: no "k" on the clic.net. So the corrected version: jakeanddeanna@quickclic.net

We have had at least 15 players come out to each of our meeting so far, but we'd love to have more yet, so c'mon out and enjoy the game!

Thursday's a'comin', Hammers, so shine up your board and get flickin'. We're still in the grip of Winter, despite the recent thaw. The garden's not an option yet, so get out here and do some socializing. There's nothing good on T.V., and the folks in London, Toronto, St. Jacobs, Exeter, and Tavistock are inviting us to their tourneys, so let's limber up those fingers.

Thursday, 7:00 p.m. at Cornerstone. Let's be there!

Hi, Gang. To Paul's question, if your weekend begins on Friday evening, then yes, we do play weekends. We'd love to have you join us for a visit, Paul.

Our next HAMMERS CLUB EVENT is scheduled for tomorrow (Friday, January 30th) evening at 7:00 p.m. Our plan this week is to begin with about six rounds of singles (in two divisions) and then end off the night with some doubles competition. I'm happy to see that Eric M. is to join us for the evening. Be sure to comb your hair 'cause Eric never goes anywhere without that camera of his! (By the way have you noticed how many people have watched that video of our Club event a few months ago? Don't be surprised if you get requests for autographs, especially if you can look at the ceiling and shoot twenties at the same time!)

We've been asked if we would like to host a tournament; pehaps we should discuss that tomorrow too. Anyway, lets count on a great turnout tomorrow night. Perhaps you could help me out by bringing a board along, and maybe even a table. I'm going to polish up my boards, so beware, there'll be some slick flickin' tomorrow!

Se you then!

Are you playing on weekends at all?

Hey your welcome guys, Eric here, the only way I can make a comment here is assume 'Admin mode'. So do you think the Hammers can make it to 10 members before the other clubs? You've got a one member lead at the moment.
By the way, if you've got a chair free. I think I can make it down Friday.
